 Building Occupant Fire Safety Information An evacuation map is located on your main exit door in your unit. A Fire Alarm/Life Safety System monitors and controls all activity having to do with life safety in this building. If smoke or heat is detected a voice Evacuation Signal is sounded on the floor of the alarm, the floor below the alarm and the floor above the alarm. Speakers are distributed throughout the building to deliver the evacuation signal also strobe lights will flash in all common areas of the building. The stairwells are a safe area to exit the building. If a Pull Station, located on every floor at the entrance to the stairwell, is activated by pulling the lever down the evacuation signal will sound in the same manner as above. The Fire Alarm/Life Safety System also monitors the Fire Sprinkler System that is installed in every area of this building. The Fire Sprinkler System is ready at all times to deliver a high volume of water when a sprinkler head is activated by heat. The Fire Alarm/Life Safety System monitors this activity and issues evacuation signals as stated above. For any of these scenarios the Fire Alarm/Life Safety System will automatically notify the Fire Department of the activity. If an elevator malfunctions they are equipped with phones to alert officials and they will dispatch to assist you. Elevators are very safe remain calm and call for assistance. There are fire extinguishers located on each floor in the corridor.
